Look at those judging eyes.
Lions probably sit around all day and make fun of us blunt-teethed, no-claw, forward-bending knee bipeds.
And then go chase down a gazelle and f*** with some crocodiles.
Say, how do humans get their food again?
We go to a grocery store LiOoOoOn, ever heard of that? Didn't think so. Now leave me alone while I hunt and gather a box of cheerios down aisle 5.
I digress.
Lions are badass.
My screensaver is a picture of a lion actually. It grants me the courage to open up my computer and smash out a blog post talking crap about a ferocious animal that would tear me into peices.
So do you think lions would hate on the keto diet?
Hell na.
But they aren't the haters here.
It's your doctor.
This is why your doctor is (kinda) wrong about the keto diet.

Subject line: Everyone hates keto...this is why they’re wrong
Everybody has something to say about keto.
Yet, does anybody really know what they’re talking about?
Your neighbor says it's bad for you.
The aunt you haven't seen since 2004 say’s it's all a bunch of phooey.
Your nephew who works out and just graduated from college says it’s not good to restrict your body of alllllll macro-nutrients.
Heck, even your dog looks at you funny.
(pugs may not have conquered the art of breathing but they sure know how to hold you accountable with your diet)
But have these naysayers actually tried the diet?
How many of them made the commitment?
Which of them stuck to the diet, ate the right foods, and had the discipline to have a genuine opinion about keto?
(your dog doesn’t count)
I dare say few...very few.
To add to this negativity...even your doctor looks at you sideways when you mention keto.
Disclaimer: I’m no doctor...but keto works for me and I’ve seen it work for close family and friends.
Sure, that’s anecdotal…
But excuse me for not being a global keto pollster.
This is why your doctor is wrong.
Your doctor is trained to understand that the human body needs a fixed amount of macronutrients…
...meaning a set amount of carbs, fats, and proteins.
This is why you’ll see doctors commonly recommending against any restrictive diets.
The thing is…
Not everybody's dietary requirements are the same.
Your body burns a certain amount of calories per day. This is called your basal metabolic rate (or BMR for short).
Meaning, how many calories does your body burn at a resting level.
Even if you wake up and sit in your bed the whole day, your body is still burning calories.
Your BMR is the amount of calories YOUR body burns for natural functions...excluding any activities.
Everyone's BMR is different.
Lebron James and myself have COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BMR’s..
Your BMR is probably way different than mine.
This is why keto may work for some...and not for others.
I don’t want this to be me on a soapbox preaching about how great keto is for every human in the whole world…
Because the reality is...it isn’t.
It depends on YOUR body.
People with a high BMR may be more sensitive to low carb intake. The lack of energy producing carbs can really affect their health. Whereas, others can get along just fine.
It all depends on YOUR body.
But, this is why your doctor is wrong.
Keto works wonders for some people...not so much for others.
Your body may be prepared for a high protein, high fat diet...when some people aren’t.
Human bodies are not “one-size-fits-all.”.
And there’s only one way to see if keto is right for you…
Implementing the basics while maintaining a healthy, and nutritious diet including exercise.
It may work for you, it may not...and that’s okay.
At least at the end of the day you know where to get some healthy and delicious keto baking mix :)
