It's not a trick question.
And I don't have the answer for you.
Sorry.
But I wonder if Egypt has the answer?
They might, because the notorious tanker that plugged up the Suez Canal is finally free.
Although I'm sure you saw all the memes with the one small CAT excavator digging up the tanker.
If not, here's the original picture...
(exercise in futility?)
Now, i'm sure they had more than one of these things. There's just no way there was only one.
And if they did...well.
Shit...It worked.
Because the tanker is free now, allowing ships to sail freely through the canal once again.
But did you see all the hysteria?
The toob was proclaiming TP shortages (again), shipping delays and oil price increases...all from this one blockage.
My question is...
How is the world so reliant on one strip of water?
Are you telling me a 78 year old man in Idaho would potentially have to wipe his behind with yesterdays newspaper because ONE strip of water became plugged up by a tanker?
Really?
Are we that reliant on this small canal halfway around the globe?
I don't really know...i'm just asking.
But I did hear about all the shortages, and i'm sure you did too.
And this blows my mind.
So, what's this got to do with you and your business?
Well, imagine being so reliant on one revenue stream that if it were to get clogged up, you business would be at risk of shutting down.
Imagine that.
Let's say your google ads got plugged up in the system and no leads were being driven to your website.
OR Facebook decided to suspend your ads because of some reason and now no leads were being driven to your site.
What would you do?
Well, if this was the case...
You'd be as screwed as the 78 year old Idahoan.
So instead of relying on one revenue stream why not open new routes?
Why not cover your behind and reinforce your revenue with another means of transport?
Any ideas?
I got one.
Email.
Think of email marketing as digging a second canal so that when one of them gets plugged up by a giant tanker (or mark zuckerburg) you have another one running on all cyclinders.
You're not reliant on one way of earning money, and you have the peace of mind of knowing you can earn money from multiple streams.
I see email marketing as the perfect "second-canal" to any business.
And it's super easy to implement. If you already have an email list that's half the battle.
All you gotta do now it send the right emails.
And voila!
No more impending doom from a blockage.
That's all for now.
